Music being a language older than any tongue can be fully appreciated on this fine recording. Joyful and poignant chanting interspersed with exotic flute, guitar, udu and percussion tracks offer a unique and colorful sacred cleanse for mind and spirit. Om Mani Padme Hum is the most common mantra in Tibet, which may relieve negative karma, accumulate merit, help rescue them from the sea of suffering and achieve enlightenment.
Buedi Siebert: A classically trained flutist, Buedi Siebert could be called a "musician without borders." He collects and plays instruments from all over the world and along with tremendous versatility as a musician, truly has a global consciousness and vision. A native of Germany, Siebert has been composing and performing for more than twenty years. He composes music for film and theater, records his own CDs and also produces albums for other musicians. He has toured in concert throughout Europe, the United States, including a performance at Carnegie Hall, and Africa. In the late 1980s, Siebert met the medicine man Sun Bear and became his student. During meditative journeys at the pyramids, he had the unique opportunity to make recordings in the Cheops pyramid. These experiences changed him, and he turned his back on the city, moved to the Black Forest and began focusing on projects dedicated to benefiting the earth and humankind. Mr. Tjoa, who created IDOGO, asked Siebert to compose music to accompany the IDOGO stick practice. About IDOGO: Just as we can experience a river as flowing naturally, with a certain carefree air, so it can be with the human spirit or chi. Ideally the chi flows harmoniously, allowing us the freedom to be both an individual and in harmony with all that surrounds us. If we can flow with the characteristic of a river, we can have positive impact in the world. The IDOGO exercises have a similar impact, recharging one's batteries and bringing one into harmony with all life. It was a pleasure for Siebert to compose music both to enhance the experience and energy flow of IDOGO and other moving meditations and at the same time, music that people can simply listen to and get into the flow of relaxation, rejuvenation and feeling good. Siebert believes that music is one of life's gifts and that to be a composer carries a condition, which is to give everything and receive even more in return. Siebert says, "I thank all the energies that flowed with me into the creation of this music as they strengthened it in a high measure. I stand before you truly astonished at the beauty that has been created. |
![]() It is very good to recite the mantra Om mani padme hum, but while you are doing it, you should be thinking on its meaning, for the meaning of the six syllables is great and vast. The first, Om is composed of three letters, A, U, and M. These symbolize the practitioner's impure body, speech, and mind; they also symbolize the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha.
